Biscuit Wins Group 1

August 30th, 2010

Biscuit, Champion Kesdar Just A Rumour is on a roll. On Sunday 29 August at Hamilton, Victoria she showed beautifully to win Best in Group (Group 1) and Intermediate in Group. This win follows on from her wonderful effort at the 12 National Boxer Specialty  where she won the Reserve Challenge under Alex Palacin, Boxerpark Boxers (Spain) over an entry of more than 100 Boxer bitches.

Biscuit has only just turned 2 years of age and starting to hit maturity.  We cannot forget too that this time last year she won Reserve Challenge at the Royal Melbourne Show from Junior class. Biscuit was only 13 months old at the time!

Biscuit has had impressive wins under judges from Canada, USA, Spain, Japan, Slovenia and Australia. We are really look forward to campaigning her into the future with the knowledge that she enjoys her moment in the spot light as much as we enjoy showing her!

Judge John Cormack, Sugarwood Boxers UK

Another great day in the Show ring for Kesdar Boxers with our beautiful boy Fletcher, Champion Kesdar Riding High taking out Runner Up In Show over an entry in excess of 200 Boxers. Best in Show went to the beautiful moving Bitch Grand Ch and NZ Ch Quasar Is Contagious At Blueprint (Imp NZ), owned by Mark Johnston (NSW).

It was lovely to watch the two, powerful moving dogs move around the ring together as the judge made his final decision. Fletcher you can hold your head up high you were beaten by one of the best!

And lets not forget Puppy in Show … our beautiful 8 month old girl Kesdar Dream A Little Dream.

WOW what a sensational weekend of showing for the Kesdar Team … simply wonderful!

12th National Boxer Specialty Melbourne Australia

August 27th, 2010

Saturday 21 August 2010
Judge Alex Palacin Boxerpark Boxers (Spain)

The Kesdar Boxer team performed very well at the 12th National Boxer Specialty Entry 200 plus Boxers. Our girls led the way but we cannot forget Kesdar Day Dream Believer (Bronx) owned by Cynthia Graham, 2nd Place Minor Dog from an entry of 11. Jackson, Ch Kesdar Royal Ascot, 4th Place Australian Bred dog (25 in the class) and our beautiful boy, Fletcher, Ch Kesdar Riding High taking out 1st Place over an entry of 19 Open Dogs.

Bring on the girls. Our youngest entry, Kesdar High Tea, Alli-Kat, came 1st in Minor Puppy Bitch over an entry of 15 and Kesdar Magical Moment, owned by Jo Malloy came in at 5th. Kesdar Dream A Little Dream took out 2nd place from an entry of 10. Samantha, Kesdar High Class 1st Junior.

The most amazing class of all was Intermediate Bitch, 23 entered and Kesdar took out 1st with Ch Kesdar Just A Rumour (Biscuit) and 2nd with Ch Kesdar Just Xquisite (Pepper)!

Rebel strutted out next to claim 1st Place in Australian Bred with an entry of 13. 1st Place and the eventual Best In Show Winner came from Open Class, Ch Rampid Breakaway, the beautiful daughter of Kesdar Cover Girl, litter sister to our  Kesdar Riding High. Kelly, Grand Champion Kesdar High Society (mother of class winners Alli-Kat and Samantha) came a very well deserved 3rd in Open Bitch.

And Biscuit, Ch Kesdar Just A Rumour won the Reserve Challenge beating over 100 Bitches to do so. With four (Minor, Junior, Intermediate and Australian Bred) Kesdar Bitches claiming a spot in  the Challenge line up at a National we were, of course, over the moon. Given the Open bitch was out of a Kesdar bitch too… simply awesome!

Yes … Kesdar had an wonderful National!

Now on to the Boxer Association of Victoria Championship Show …

Touch of Spring

July 31st, 2010

Rained all night last night but woke up to clear skies and warm sunshine that voices the promise of an early spring. Tiny hints of green buds colour the end of sparse, dark, dry branches. Birds keen to fossick for nesting material glide and dive in their busy endeavours. The dogs find sheltered sunny spots and roll on their backs feet playfully boxing above smiling faces before they gently flop onto their sides, sigh and fall into contented sleep.

The grass, knee high, wet from the nights rain,  sways. The gentle  breeze carrying with it the slightest hint of warmth and the scent of seedlings pushing through the rich soil towards the sun.

Late Winter … teases us, masquerades momentarily as Spring then turns to reveal its colder heart again.

Arken is 12 Months!

July 21st, 2010

Our beautiful Norwegian boy is 12 months old.

Arken, Street Boxer’s From Above (Imp Norway) turned 12 months on July 7. He is now starting to mature and all the bits coming back into proportion and where they were when he showed so much promise as a baby. We are thrilled.

And the dog is not only looking good but has the most wonderful personality that just gets better as he grows. He is happy, funny, gentle, caring, naughty, playful and beautiful. The complete package.

Happy Birthday Arken … we love you!

Fletcher at Six

July 18th, 2010

Our beautiful boy Fletcher recently turned six years of age so we decided to update his photos. He still has what it takes to impress, well we think so anyway. Fletcher has not been shown since blitzing the field to win Best in Show at the Victorian Boxer Specialty August 2009. He will be strutting his stuff again this August and we hope his return to the show ring will be successful.

He is such a gorgeous dog around the house too. Except he thinks he should be sitting on your lap and he is a tad too big for that these days. He has also produced a strong line up of sons too. Three Champions with another young son only a handful of points away for his title. A young girl is also adding up the points too.

We will all keep our fingers crossed that August 2010 is once again a great month for Fletcher, Champion Kesdar Riding High.

The End of the Weekend

July 4th, 2010

Beautiful sunset across the paddocks at Winslow. Glass of champagne in hand, dogs chasing finches as the fly close to ground catching insects, magpies calling to their own to settle in for the night. Peaceful, quiet … home.

Winter sunset over the home paddocks of Winslow

The end of another winter weekend. Chores done … six metres of firewood stacked in the wood shed –  a solid wall of red gum, dry, weathered, solid wood the colour rich, deep and  intense with the promise of warming fires. The paddocks cleaned of dropped wood and pinecones. Pot of thick homemade veggie soup steaming on the stove beckoning to be had with thick crusty bread in front of the fireplace. All is well. Life is good. Simple … but good.

Lets Get Comfortable

July 1st, 2010

Winter at Winslow means wood fires, red wine, good books and snoozing on warm couches covered in cozy blankets. The rain may pelt down outside, the sound though is somehow comforting on the old tin roof. The rain gushes down the pipes and echoes in the water tanks, a higher pitch as the water level goes up.

The driveway is a muddy track that sucks the gumboots from your feet, maddening when you are in a hurry but downright funny when the time allows. The dogs enjoy the mud, rolling in it, plastering themselves and you if you are not quick enough to escape the welcoming hugs. Paw prints on the back of coats a fixture.

At night, all is quiet except for the gentle snores of the dogs, the collective noun that seems to suit rings true … a slumber of Boxers.
